Subject: Important Information for Upcoming Finals Weekends

Dear all,

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the final weekends of your competitions, please take note of the following reminders and rules that will be in place.

Events in the Park

Sydney Olympic Park will be hosting several major events over the coming weekends, including the NRL Finals, AFL Final Games, Davis Cup, Cirque Du Soleil, Quaycentre events, large conferences at Sydney Showground, and carnivals at the Aquatic and Athletic Centre. Please check WHAT’S ON in our website to plan your journey in advance.

Parking

On September 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21, the parking validator will not be available due to the number of major events. We strongly encourage the use of public transport or pre-booked parking.

Please note:

• P3 and P4 are expected to sell out on these weekends.
• P7 will be fully allocated to Quaycentre events, so no spaces can be provided there.

We’ve also had some recent issues with parking access and behaviour. To ensure smoother operations, please remind all members:

• Parking proxy cards are valid for one entry and one exit only and may not be shared across vehicles. Misuse may result in deactivation.
• Tickets must be validated before exiting; unvalidated tickets will incur the full rate.
• Lost tickets will attract a lost ticket fee.
• Tailgating through exit gates is prohibited and may cause damage to vehicles or equipment.
• Abuse towards staff over the intercom will not be tolerated, staff are simply following procedure.

Event Security

For finals, Security/RSA officers will be rostered. SOPA will cover the cost for one officer, with clients responsible for the remaining 1-2 guards dependant on numbers.  Security will be conducting bag/esky checks and monitoring alcohol consumption. Please note in line with venue regulations and the Liquor Act 2007:

•              The Hockey Centre is a licensed venue.

•              Intoxicated persons will be asked to leave.

•              Minors cannot purchase or consume alcohol.

•              Supplying alcohol to minors is a serious offence and will be reported to Police.

•              Alcohol cannot be brought into the facility.

•              Bags may be inspected upon entry.

Your cooperation with these regulations is appreciated to ensure a safe and compliant environment.

Canteen

Thank you for your feedback regarding the canteen. The catering team has been informed, and the canteen will be open during finals for purchases. As a reminder, commercial food is not permitted inside the venue.
