In 1914, 111 years ago, the first hockey Test Match was played in Australia .. it was a women's match Australia v England .. England won 11-3 .. two men umpired .. it was an honour that has never been repeated .. yes, no other males have officiated in a women's Test Match played in Australia since .. but to be fair in Sydney hockey in those early years the co-operation between the sexes in growing and participating in hockey was superb.
