Hockey can be a dangerous sport, as evidenced by the recent tragedy that occurred in a club match in WA. We hope that none of our players ever get seriously injured while playing hockey, but should that occur, you are able to claim some costs from the personal injury policy provided by Sportscover Australia.
The hockey community within Sydney and Australia has been saddened by the recent passing of two members of our community.
Many of you would be aware of the tragic incident that occurred last Sunday in Perth, where Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Watkins was hit on the back of the head by a deflected ball during a hockey match. Lizzie unfortunately never recovered and died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Lizzie was a talented hockey player and many of our Sydney and NSW players have come into contact with her on and off the field in the premier Perth Hockey League and at National Competitions.
See important information below relating to Car parking at Sydney Olympic Park – please ensure that all players, officials and supporters are aware of the parking restrictions etc during these special events – as you can appreciate Sydney Masters Hockey has no control over these parking restrictions
UPDATED SOP MAJOR EVENT PARKING for MAY and JUNE 2012

With the introduction of our new website, it's probably appropriate that we point people to a few of the most used areas on the website. The key one is of course the Fixtures/Results section.
Because we have combined Fixtures/Results, MVP Points, Venues and Clubs into a cascading menu, calling the main menu "Fixtures/Results" was not appropriate. So it has been renamed as "Competition".
On behalf of the Sydney Hockey Board, I would just like to take this opportunity to send a brief formal message of WELCOME to all our Clubs (and their players, administrators, officials, supporters and their families) as we prepare to commence the 2012 Sydney Hockey competitions on Saturday 17th March with the Sydney Premier League (SPL) and Sydney Cup (SC) Divisions.
The 2012 season so far is shaping up as very exciting with all clubs building stronger teams and this all goes well for highly competitive and quality hockey competitions.
